I have to think this Princess Tam Tam advertisement illustrates some striking differences between French and American women.
I think it’s fair to call Princess Tam Tam the French Victoria’s Secret: Affordable, made-in-China lingerie that’s accessible and alluring enough to be mass-marketable.
But check out that French model. She’s laughing. She looks like she’s having fun in that bra-panty set. Yeah, she’s sexy and gorgeous, but she could just as easily be at a slumber party with her girlfriends or getting dressed on her way to work as she might be getting dolled up for a date.
This is in sharp contrast to the man-eating Victoria Secret models, who are made to look like they’re about to leap off the page and slide down a stripper pole.
(Also, no one photoshop-erased the French model’s nipples. Nice.)
There’s something about the way French women are sexy. They’re sexy for themselves. If a man happens to be paying attention, all the better. But it’d be happening either way.
